Dryer Vent Cleaning in Houston, TX

Why Houston dryer vents clog the way they do
Gulf humidity is the cause. Damp lint does not blow out of a duct. It sticks to the first elbow and stays. Then urban dust and freeway soot ride in on intake air, inside the Loop especially. That mix packs denser than dry lint. It behaves more like felt than fluff.
Housing stock splits the work in two. The 1920s–40s pier-and-beam bungalows in the Heights, Montrose, and Third Ward usually put laundry on an enclosed back porch or in a converted closet. Short wall vent, foil flex, often crushed behind the machine. Those are quick to clear and quick to re-clog. Mid-century slab ranches in Sharpstown, Oak Forest, and Meyerland tend to run through the attic above conditioned space. On a cold front those runs sweat, and wet lint cakes the low spots.
Post-2010 townhome infill is the hard one. Laundry sits on the second or third floor, venting up a chase to a roof cap, with multiple offsets along the way. Every offset is a collection point. Brushing from the dryer alone rarely reaches the cap.
What we check first: the transition hose, the flap on the termination, and whether the run was ever sized for the floors it climbs.
What Happens After You Call Us
Call and tell us where the laundry sits, porch, utility room, or upstairs, and how long a towel load takes now. We book a two hour arrival window and text you when we are twenty minutes out.
We walk the run first, from the dryer to the outside hood, and give you a firm quote before a tool comes off the truck. The estimate is free.
We brush and vacuum the full run, replace crushed foil hose with rigid metal, clear the outside hood, then test airflow at the vent. Lint goes in our vacuum, not on your floor, and you pay the quoted number.

Frequently Asked Questions
My laundry is on the third floor of a townhome inside the Loop — how do you even reach that vent?
We clean it from both ends. The duct runs up through a chase to a roof cap, usually with two or three offsets along the way, so a single push from the dryer connection rarely clears it. We brush from the laundry closet upward with rotating rods that follow the bends, then get on the roof to pull lint out at the cap instead of packing it tighter against the damper. Those offsets are where lint stacks up on these post-2010 builds, and they're the reason a third-floor dryer can take two or three cycles to dry a load while the machine itself tests fine.
Why does my dryer vent seem worse in winter when Houston barely gets cold?
It's not the cold so much as the swing. Gulf humidity keeps the intake air heavy all year, so lint going into the duct is already damp. When a front drops through and the attic cools off fast, the warm moist exhaust in an attic run above conditioned space condenses on the duct wall, and that damp lint stops moving and starts caking. Homeowners usually call us the week after the first real front, not in August. If your run crosses the attic, that's the failure point to expect.
How fast can someone get out to my house?
Usually within a couple of days, and often sooner. Houston traffic is the real variable, not our schedule. A job in Meyerland and a job in the Heights on the same afternoon means we build in travel time, so we give you an arrival window rather than a to-the-minute time and call when we're close. If you're inside the Loop and flexible on time of day, we can typically work you in faster than a fixed morning slot.
What usually goes wrong with these older bungalows in the Heights or Montrose?
Short wall vents on an enclosed back porch or in a converted laundry closet tend to look fine and perform badly. The run is only a few feet, so people assume it can't clog, but the exterior hood is often the original louvered type with a flap that's been painted, crusted, or blocked by a wasp nest. On pier-and-beam houses we also find transition hose that's been crushed when the dryer got pushed back against the wall, plus duct that was never properly sealed where it passes through the wall. Urban dust and freeway soot coat the lint and make it sticky, which is why a short run still clogs here.
What makes one Houston house cost more than another, and can you do it same day?
Layout drives the number more than anything. A slab ranch in Sharpstown or Oak Forest with a short sidewall run through the garage is on the simpler end. A three-story townhome with a chase run to a roof cap, or an older place where the attic duct has to be accessed and the exterior hood replaced, takes longer and involves roof work, so it costs more. We tell you what we're looking at and what it'll take before we start cleaning, not after. Same-day does happen when we have a cancellation or you're near a route we're already running, but it's not something we promise over the phone. Call and we'll tell you honestly what the day looks like.
